PHANTOMS

For my final assignment at AU Arts, I was challenged to create an album cover, front and back, inspired by a song of my choice. Having been my favourite band since 2009, Marianas Trench was a clear choice to start the project with. During the time I was working on this project, I had the opportunity to see them perform in concert. Their Suspending Gravity tour and current album, Phantoms, was loosely inspired by haunted theatres and masquerade balls, with the band wearing masquerade masks during the show. Seeing the band perform and feeling the music gave me the inspiration I needed to create this piece.

This work later turned into my grad piece that was displayed as a single extended image printed on metal at 20 x 56 inches long at the AU Arts Grad Show 2019.

I was later invited to share this piece with RuminariLive Arts in Beaumont, Alberta for their Upstairs Gallery exhibition November 2019.
